Authority Belongs to Those Who Lead

Whilst God led man in the garden of Eden, there was peace, wealth, health…

  • Those who lead are the ones who hold authority, those who guide others.
Lucifer led the angels as an anointed guardian cherub. He guided them until his heart was swollen and then wanted to overtake God Himself. His plan backfired and as a result, he lost everything and was transformed into Satan. (Ezekiel 28:11-19)

Whilst God led man in the Garden of Eden, there was peace, wealth, health and above all, communion with the Creator. There were no problems because God gave man His authority to rule over everything (Genesis 1:26). Satan had to steal this authority in order to be able to lord it over man. To do this, he used his most powerful weapon, doubt, by suggesting that there was a problem in paradise. (Genesis 3:1-24)

When man doubted, he disobeyed and HANDED OVER his authority to the devil. That was when the devil took charge.

Doubt was probably also the great weapon that the devil used to bring a third of the angels down from Heaven. Doubt has been used to this day to keep on robbing the authority that God has bestowed upon all who believe in the Lord Jesus, as the scripture says:

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…” Acts 1:8

The Lord Jesus Himself, full of the Holy Spirit, was also tempted. Satan wanted to nullify the authority of the Son of God. Therefore, he approached Him with doubt: “If you are the Son of God…”, and then:

“…All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.” And Jesus answered and said to him, “GET BEHIND ME, SATAN! …” Luke 4:6-8

Jesus put the devil in the place where he belongs: BEHIND Him.
The Lord Jesus taught us that when we overcome the voice of doubt, we impede the devil from robbing us of our authority and taking charge of our lives.

However, when the devil leads a person, they live in sin, in doubt, in sickness, murmuring… He guides the person’s life to everything that is wrong. The person is then filled with grudges, malice, feelings, rebellion, pride, arrogance, fears, etc.

    Every doubt comes from hell!
Therefore, when doubt comes (the devil), through whoever it may be, we have to do as Jesus did and put it BEHIND US! We cannot hand over the authority that we have received from God.
