What oppose faith and courage are doubt and fear. While the forces of good use the voice of faith to encourage, the forces of evil use the voice of doubt to terrify. Who should we follow? Who should we serve? Which decisions should we make?
In the inner conflict between these two voices, there is only one solution: Doubting our doubts!
Doubting doubt itself is to doubt the forces of evil. When they say: “Watch out, this could go wrong. It did not work with so-and-so…” etc., the immediate answer should be: “If God is with me, I want to see with my own eyes that He is with me!”
Then, go in deep, without any fear.
This battle against doubt is fought within ourselves and that is precisely where victory is achieved.
This is what it means to fight the good fight of faith in order to take possession, not only of a good quality of life, but above all, of eternal life. (1 Timothy 6.12)
Believing in God means much more than believing in His existence. It means that we believe He will do what He has promised to do.
