Have you already received the Spirit of Christ?
The miracle of a new life follows the same pattern as the birth of Jesus, the Son of God: The Spirit of the Most High came upon (overshadowed) Mary and so Jesus was conceived.
The same process occurs when others are born of the Spirit, the children of God. Thirty years later Jesus taught a teacher of religion how to become a true child of God:
“…unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” John 3.5
Being born of water means an exchange of your thoughts for God’s thoughts. God’s holy water washes away all silly, useless and empty thoughts and replaces them with the living thoughts of God.
The birth of the Spirit happens just like the account of the angel to Mary the virgin:
“The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you…” Luke 1:35 (HCSB)
This is what needs to happen to everyone…
to everyone who humbly believes in the Word of God.
Because of this, the holy being that will be born will also be called son of God.
To complete this train of thought, the Holy Spirit says this through the apostle Paul:
“But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.” Romans 8:9 (HCSB)
The question is: Have you already receive the Spirit of Christ?
